New York State Common Retirement Fund approves $410m in commitments

The US public pension has backed two private equity funds.

New York State Common Retirement Fund has approved commitments of $225 million to Searchlight Capital III and $185 million to Warburg Pincus China-Southeast Asia II, according to the pension’s latest monthly report.

The $210.20 billion US public pension has a 10.0 percent target allocation to private equity which currently stands at 9.10 percent.

As illustrated below, New York State Common Retirement Fund has made ten commitments to private equity funds with a 2019 vintage, which combined constitute $1.73 billion.
