New York State Common Retirement Fund approves $500m commitment

New York State Common Retirement Fund has agreed to commit $500 million to Vista Co-Invest Fund 2018, according to the pension’s September meeting minutes. Vista Equity Partner will invest in enterprise software opportunities in North America.

The $210.28 billion US public pension has a 10.0 percent target allocation to private equity which currently stands at 9.10 percent.

As illustrated below, the pension has made 11 commitments to private equity funds with a 2019 vintage, which combined constitute $1.74 billion.
