New York State Common Retirement Fund approves $650m in commitments

The US public pension has backed two private equity funds.

New York State Common Retirement Fund has agreed to commit $500 million to Blackstone Capital Partners VIII and $150 million to FS Equity Partners VIII, as disclosed in the pension’s March monthly report.

The $197.30 billion US public pension has a 10.0 percent target allocation to private equity which currently stands at 9.50 percent.

New York State Common Retirement Fund has made two commitments to private equity funds with a 2019 vintage: the aforementioned commitment to Blackstone Capital Partners VIII, as well as $150 million to Hollis Park Value Fund.
