NYSCRF approves $1.49bn in commitments

The US public pension has backed five private equity funds.

New York State Common Retirement Fund has confirmed $1.49 billion-worth of private equity commitments to five vehicles, according to the pension’s June 2020 meeting minutes.

The commitments comprise of €500 million to CVC Capital Partners VIII, $300 million to KKR Asian Fund IV, $200 million to Ares Corporate Opportunities Fund VI, $300 million to Stellex Capital Partners II and $100 million to Stellex Capital Partners II Co-Invest.

The $210.50 billion US public pension has a 10.0 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 9.4 percent.

As illustrated below, the pension fund’s recent commitments are to funds focused on the health services, business services, retail, industrial and manufacturing sectors within the North America region.
