NYSCRF approves $450m commitment

The US public pension has backed a North American private equity fund.

New York State Common Retirement Fund has agreed to commit $450 million to Whitehorse Liquidity Partners (Empire), according to the pension’s November 2020 monthly report.

The $216.30 billion US public pension has a 10.0 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 10.50 percent.

As illustrated below, the pension fund’s recent commitments are to vehicles focused on the technology, financial services, consumer goods, healthcare, industrials and manufacturing within the Middle East/Africa and North America regions.
