O’Melveny hires Eve Ellis as investment funds partner

Ellis returns to the firm from Mischcon de Reya’s funds and financial services group.

O’Melveny & Myers has hired Eve Ellis as a partner in the investment funds group in its London office, the Los Angeles-based law firm said in a statement.

Ellis will rejoin the firm in October from Mishcon de Reya where she was a partner and co-head of the funds and financial services group in London.

Ellis is a specialist in UK regulatory matters, including the Alternative Investment Funds Management Directive, approvals and compliance, anti-money laundering and financial product marketing, the statement said.

She first worked at O’Melveny from 2007 to 2010 as counsel in its investment funds group before joining Charles Russell where she worked until 2014, when she left to join Mischcon de Reya, according to her Linkedin profile.

Ellis is the second recent London partner hire for O’Melveny. Andrew Weiler will join in August as a mergers and acquisition and corporate finance partner.

O’Melveny’s London office clients include Actis Capital, Canada Pension Plan, CDC, Collar Capital, Government of Singapore Investment, Living Bridge, and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, according to its website.
