Platinum Equity Capital Partners LP, the vintage 2004 domestic distressed and turnaround fund, logged an IRR of 60 percent as of Sept. 30, 2012, according to data from the Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System. It’s ranked as the top-performing fund from that vintage year, according to a survey by Buyouts. Mark Barnhill, a partner at the firm, spoke about Platinum Equity’s performance.
