Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois has agreed to commit $75 million each to Arlington Capital Partners V and Aurora Capital Partners VI, a contact at the pension informed Private Equity International. These commitments mark the first time Illinois Teachers’ has committed to funds managed by either firm.

The $52.15 billion US public pension has a 15.0 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 12.90 percent.

As illustrated below, Illinois Teachers’ has made eight commitments to private equity funds with a 2019 vintage, which combined constitute $544.3 million.
