VC-backed Ticketfly appoints new CFO and engineering VP

San Francisco-based ticketing platform Ticketfly has named Derek Yung as chief financial officer and Nate Underwood as vice president of engineering. Yung's work background includes serving as CFO to several companies that include Nextag and Tria Beauty while Underwood worked at a number of firms that include Livefyre and Sony. Ticketfly's backers include Sapphire Ventures, Riverwood Capital, Northgate Capital and Cross Creek Capital.

VC-backed Performance Horizon appoints board chairman

Performance Horizon, a digital partner marketing provider, has named Steve Walske as chairman of its board of directors. Walske is the former CEO of Parametric Technology Corporation. Performance Horizon's backers include Mithril, Greycroft Partners and DN Capital.

Canvas Venture Fund has added named Ben Narasin, a veteran seed-stage investor, its fifth general partner.

New Enterprise Associates has named Dr. Stephen Oesterle as a venture partner. Oesterle formerly worked at Medtronic Inc where he served as an executive vice president.

Ellen Pao won't appeal verdict in gender discrimination trial: Reuters

Ellen Pao, the former venture capitalist who lost a high-profile discrimination case against her former employer earlier this year, said on Thursday that she would not pursue an appeal of the court's decision and pay the firm $276,000 in legal costs.

IVP names Giampapa associate

Late-stage investor Institutional Venture Partners announced Michael Giampapa has joined the firm as an associate and will focus on identifying and evaluating later-stage enterprise software, Internet, and mobile investments. He previously was with J.P. Morgan.

Swart becomes general partner at Polaris Partners

Polaris Partners said Wednesday that Gary Swart was named a general partner of the firm. Swart joined Polaris last year as a venture partner. He will continue to invest as a key member of the Polaris team nationwide and serve as firm's primary technology investment presence in Silicon Valley and San Francisco.

Gupta named Docker CFO

Docker Inc. said Tuesday that Mike Gupta has joined as CFO. Docker also said it named its former CFO Eric Bardin to the newly-created role of senior VP of finance and business operations. Gupta was previously SVP of strategic investments at Twitter. Docker is an open platform for developers and administrators to build and run applications. Investors include AME Cloud Ventures, Benchmark, Coatue, Goldman Sachs, Greylock Partners, Insight Venture Partners, Northern Trust, Sequoia Capital, SV Angel, Trinity Ventures and Y Combinator.

Krognes named CFO of Denali Therapeutics

Steve Krognes is joining Denali Therapeutics Inc. as CFO effective Oct. 1. Krognes joins Denali from Genentech, where he has served as CFO and as a member of the Genentech Executive Committee since 2009. San Francisco-based Denali is a biotechnology company focused on developing therapies for neurodegenerative diseases. Investors include Fidelity Biosciences, ARCH Venture Partners, Flagship Ventures and the Alaska Permanent Fund.
