Ovivo to be acquired by SKion, CDPQ in $185 mln deal
Canadian water treatment company Ovivo Inc (TSX: OVI.A, OVI.B) has agreed to be acquired by an affiliate of German family office SKion GmbH in partnership with the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ). The deal, which will take the company private, has an enterprise value of about $185 million, including debt. Upon the acquisition's close, expected in September, SKion will own a 70 percent interest in Ovivo, and CDPQ, a 30 percent interest. The Verreault family, Fonds de solidarité FTQ and other shareholders have agreed to support the deal. Montréal-based Ovivo said the partnership with SKion and CDPQ will support investments in innovation, acquisitions and other priorities.
