Microsoft is buying GitHub and a deal could be announced Monday, Bloomberg is reporting. GitHub preferred selling the company to going public and chose Microsoft partially because it was impressed by CEO Satya Nadella, the story said. GitHub is a code repository popular with software developers.

Fitch Group said May 31 that it agreed to buy Fulcrum Financial Data. Financial terms weren’t announced. Leeds Equity Partners is the seller. Fulcrum Financial, of New York and London, provides leveraged finance and distressed debt analysis, as well as news and data. Brands include Covenant Review, LevFin Insights, CapitalStructure and PacerMonitor. Fitch is a unit of Hearst. DCS Advisory provided financial advice to Fitch Group.

General Motors said May 31 that the SoftBank Vision Fund is investing $2.25 billion in GM Cruise Holdings LLC. GM will also put in another $1.1 billion in GM Cruise once the deal closes. GM Cruise is the carmaker’s autonomous vehicle technology, according to Reuters.

Financial terms weren’t announced. 3 Arts is an entertainment company and content provider. 3 Arts's TV shows including 30 Rock, The Office and Brooklyn Nine Nine. The deal was negotiated for Lionsgate by Television Group COO Laura Kennedy. ExteNet Systems Inc has agreed to buy Hudson Fiber Network, a portfolio company of Tiger Infrastructure Partners. Financial terms weren’t announced. Hudson Fiber, of Paramus, New Jersey, is data transport provider with a metro fiber network in the greater New York City area.
