SBJ Fund LP invests in lower middle-market consumer, business services and healthcare services companies with up to $100 million in revenue. Fund I will provide private equity and debt in control and non-control situations.

Five Arrows Principal Investments said that its second European lower mid-market private equity fund closed at 775 million Euros ($868.56 million). New investors of Five Arrows Principal Investments II included blue-chip institutions and major family offices around the globe. Five Arrows Principal Investments is the corporate private equity business of Rothschild Merchant Banking. The fund invests in sectors including healthcare, software & technology services, business services as well as education.

A U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Phoenix has approved Cornbread Ventures LP’s buy of Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill. Cornbread, the buyer, is comprised of Gary Manley and Michael Pottorff from Iron Cactus Mexican Grill and Margarita Bar, as well as Michael Stone from The Stone Group. Under the new ownership, all Z’Tejas entities will remain open, including five Z’Tejas locations in Arizona and three Z’Tejas locations in Texas. Z’Tejas filed for bankruptcy protection in July.

Aquantia said Monday it raised $37 million in a Series H round. New investors participating in this round include Credit Suisse's Direct Equity Partners, GLOBALFOUNDRIES, and Walden Riverwood along with existing investor Cisco Investments. San Jose-based Aquantia develops and supplies high-speed connectivity solutions for data centers, enterprise and WLAN applications.

The TCW Group said Monday that Frank Gioia joined the firm’s Compliance department as SVP and Head of Investment Control. Gioia was previously the Compliance Product Manager for Charles River Development. Dipo Ashiru has also joined TCW as a Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel. Ashiru was previously with KKR, where he served as an adviser and senior counsel.

Hellman & Friedman has acquired Bain Capital’s stake in Securitas Direct Verisure Group. Financial terms weren’t announced. The deal gives Hellman & Friedman a majority shareholder position. Malmö, Sweden-based Securitas Direct provides professionally monitored home alarm systems through its Securitas Direct and Verisure brands.
