Rift.io raises $16 mln

Rift.io said Thursday it closed a $16 million Series A round led by North Bridge Venture Partners. Other strategic investors also participated. Burlington, Massachusetts-based Rift.io provides open source, hyperscale network virtualization software that aims to simplify the development, deployment and management of virtual network services, applications and functions.

H.I.G. Realty sells Houston apartment community complex

H.I.G. Realty Partners said Thursday it sold a 288 unit apartment community in the Houston, Texas suburb of Sugar Land. It did not disclose the buyer or financial terms. H.I.G. Realty is the real estate platform of H.I.G. Capital LLC.

Aqua Terra Water buys Advance Hydrocarbon

Aqua Terra Water Management LP, a portfolio company of Bregal Partners, has acquired Advance Hydrocarbon Corp. Financial terms weren’t announced. College Station, Texas-based Advance Hydrocarbon operates a saltwater disposal and water-hauling business in Central Texas. ATB Financial provided financing.

Munafo joins Auda International

Auda International said Thursday that it has acquired GP interests and the management of three secondary funds from Thomas Weisel Global Growth Partners LLC, a subsidiary of Stifel Financial Corp. As part of the deal, Christian Munafo, who most recently led the secondary investments program at Stifel, has joined the Auda team effective immediately.

Sarvint Technologies raises $6 mln

Sarvint Technologies Inc. said Wednesday that it closed a $6 million Series A round led by CTW Venture Partners. Monta Vista Capital and Maxim Ventures also participated. Atlanta-based Sarvint is a wearables technology company.

Levine Leichtman sells stake in Magnolia Bluffs

Levine Leichtman Capital Partners said Wednesday it exited its investment in Casino Holding Investment Partners which does business as "Magnolia Bluffs." Natchez, Mississippi-based Magnolia Bluffs consists of a 16,000 square foot casino and two restaurants.

FIS to buy SunGard in $9.1 bln deal

Fidelity National Information Services Inc (FIS) said Wednesday that it has agreed to buy SunGard in a deal valued at $9.1 billion, including the assumption of debt. Wayne, Pennsylvania-based SunGard is a financial software company with $2.8 billion in annual revenue. Seven private equity firms – Silver Lake, TPG, Bain Capital, KKR, Blackstone Group, Providence Equity Partners and Goldman Sachs’ private equity unit – acquired SunGard in 2005 in a $11.3 billion deal. BofA Merrill Lynch and Centerview Partners LLC acted as financial advisors to FIS. Goldman Sachs & Co., J.P. Morgan Securities LLC, Barclays, Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. and Credit Suisse acted as financial advisors to SunGard.

Mogl Network raises $8 mln

Mogl Network said Tuesday it raised another $8 million in funding led by Aequitas Capital Management. Also participating in the round were Avalon Ventures, Correlation Ventures, Sigma Partners, Sysco Ventures, Monroe Capital and Moore Venture Partners. San Diego-based Mogl aims to provide an online to offline real-time commerce platform.

VATBox raises $24 mln

VATBox said Wednesday it raised $24 million in financing led by Viola Private Equity with participation of existing investors. Tel Aviv, Israel-based VATBox provides automated VAT recovery and governance solutions.

CSC to buy Fixnetix

CSC said Tuesday it has agreed to buy Fixnetix. Financial terms weren’t announced. London-based Fixnetix provides front-office managed trading solutions in capital markets. Fixnetix is a Delta Partners portfolio company.
