Monroe Capital LLC said Tuesday it provided a $42.5 million loan to support H.I.G. Capital’s investment in Milestone Technologies Inc. Fremont, California-based Milestone provides managed information technology services to global enterprises.

Flexpoint Ford LLC said Tuesday that its third private equity fund closed at $950 million, surpassing its target of $750 million. A new investment vehicle, Flexpoint Special Assets Fund LP, collected $317 million, more than its $250 million target. Flexpoint Fund III LP will invest in minority and majority equity stakes in financial services and healthcare companies. The Special Assets Fund will invest in loans, leases, books of insurance and other assets associated with financial services companies.

The CapitalSouth Growth Fund has invested $9.4 million in Fresh Dining Concepts LLC. The investment was a combination of senior secured debt and equity. Delray Beach, Florida-based Fresh Dining is an Auntie Anne’s Inc. franchisee that operates 22 in-line stores, baking kiosks, and satellite retail units.

Viavi Solutions Inc. said Tuesday that it named Chairman Richard E. Belluzzo as interim president and chief executive officer, effective immediately. Tom Waechter, Viavi’s president and CEO, has stepped down. He will be pursuing other business and personal interests. The Viavi Board is commencing a search for a permanent president and chief executive officer. Belluzzo is currently U.S. Venture Partner for Innogest SpA and consults with The Gores Group and Bravosolution.

Booth, before that, was an Assistant VP at Madison Capital Funding. TwinBrook Capital is the middle market direct lending subsidiary of Angelo, Gordon & Co.

Symantec Corp. said Tuesday it has agreed to sell its information management business, known as Veritas, to an investor group led by the Carlyle Group and GIC for $8 billion cash. Once the deal closes, Symantec said it expects to receive about $6.3 billion in net cash proceeds. BofA Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC, UBS Investment Bank and Jefferies have agreed to provide debt financing. J.P. Morgan Securities LLC is serving as financial advisor to Symantec. BofA Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC, and UBS Investment Bank are financial advisors to Carlyle and GIC.
