Platinum Equity said Monday it closed its buy of PrimeSource Building Products Inc. from ITOCHU Corp. Financial terms weren’t announced. Irving, Texas-based PrimeSource distributes construction fasteners and non-lumber building products in North America.

Bulu Box said Friday it raised $1.5 million in funding led by Flyover Capital. Dundee Venture Capital and Triompf also participated. Lincoln, Nebraska-based Bulu Box, a vitamin and supplement sample subscription firm, said it will use the funds to launch Bulu Insights, a software that aggregates data acquired from sample surveys into a real-time dashboard.

Bitfusion said Wednesday that it closed a seed round of funding worth $1.45 million. Investors include Data Collective VC, Resonant VC and the Geekdom Fund. Austin-based Bitfusion provides technology that aims to boost application performance without the need to rewrite code.

Apax Partners has agreed to buy Quality Distribution Inc. in a deal valued at about $800 million, including debt. The transaction includes a 40-day “go-shop” where Quality Distribution can solicit alternative proposals from third parties. Tampa-based Quality Distribution operates a chemical bulk logistics network in North America. Deutsche Bank AG New York Branch, Bank of America N.A., Jefferies Finance LLC, MIHI LLC and SunTrust Bank are providing financing. RBC Capital Markets provided financial advice to Quality Distribution.

Guardant Health said Thursday that it hired Mort Minaee as VP of Regulatory Affairs. Most recently, Minaee was the Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs at Roche-Ventana Medical Systems. Redwood City, California-based Guardant Health, a cancer testing provider, has raised $100 million in VC funding. Investors include Lightspeed Venture Partners, Formation8, Khosla Ventures and Sequoia Capital.
