The Sterling Group said Tuesday it acquired Process Equipment Inc., which is known as “Process Baron.” The sellers were the founding family and management team who are reinvesting in the new transaction. Financial terms weren’t announced. Birmingham, Alabama-based Process Equipment designs, engineers, fabricates, installs, maintains and repairs equipment critical in powering industrial plants.

Kayne Anderson Real Estate Advisors said Tuesday it closed its fourth fund at more than $1 billion. Investors of Kayne Anderson Real Estate Partners IV LP included institutional investors, foundations, family offices and high net worth individuals. KAREP IV will target niche sectors in the real estate market including medical office buildings, senior housing and off-campus student housing. Kayne Anderson Real Estate Advisors is the real estate private equity arm of Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors LP.

Ethos Private Equity said Tuesday that it led a consortium to invest in Eaton Towers. The group includes Hamilton Lane and HarbourVest. The consortium contributed $150 million of the $350 million new equity raised by Eaton, a provider of shared telecoms towers across Africa.

KRG Capital Partners has acquired Palladium Energy Inc. Financial terms weren’t announced. Woodridge, Illinois-based Palladium provides power solutions including custom battery packs, power supplies and electromechanical assemblies for markets such as medical, military, commercial, industrial and consumer electronics. KRG said it combined Palladium with portfolio company ICCNexergy Inc. Palladium’s president and CEO, John Gatti, is leading the newly combined company, as president and CEO effective immediately.
