Organica Water Closes Series B Round

Organica Water said Wednesday it completed its Series B round of financing led by the International Finance Corp. Financial terms weren't disclosed WLR China Energy Infrastructure Fund L.P. , a private equity fund managed by Invesco WLR Private Equity Investment Management Co., also participated along with existing investors RNK Capital LLC and Gamma Capital Partners. Budapest-based Organica provides solutions for the treatment and recycling of wastewater.

AOL to Buy Adap.tv for $405 Mln

AOL said Wednesday it agreed to buy Adap.tv. The purchase price was $405 million, which includes $322 million in cash and approximately $83 million in AOL common stock. San Mateo, Calif.-based Adap.TV is a web video company.

Carlyle Q2 Net Losses Narrow to $3.3 Mln

The Carlyle Group reported Wednesday that second quarter net losses narrowed to $3.3 million for the time period ended June 30. This compares to $10.3 million in losses for the same time period in 2012. Economic net income was $156 million versus a $57 million loss in Q2 2012. Pre-tax Distributable Earnings rose 41% to $163 million. The Washington D.C.-based buyout shop said it generated net realized proceeds of $3.9 billion during the quarter, while dry powder was $49 billion, including $20.1 billion in corporate private equity, $17.9 billion in global solutions and $9.2 billion in real assets. Total assets under management for the firm also increased 16% to $180.4 billion, Carlyle said.

BMC Software Buys Partnerpedia

BMC Software has acquired Partnerpedia. Financial terms weren't announced. Partnerpedia, of Vancouver, B.C., provides enterprise application store and marketplace solutions.

Oaktree Capital Q2 Net Income Jumps 129%

Oaktree Capital Group said Tuesday that second quarter net income jumped 129% to $56.6 million for the time period ended June 30. Adjusted net income rose nearly 80% to $297 million, while economic net income increased 66% to $172.6 million. Total segment revenues was up 63% to $555.1 million. Los Angeles-based Oaktree, which went public in April 2012, said it distributed $4.7 billion to investors in its closed-end funds. Assets under managements dropped $2.4 billion to $76.4 billion as of June 30. The firm said that the Oaktree Emerging Market Opportunities Fund LP, a pool that will invest in distressed emerging market corporate debt, held a first close in May. Including a separate account established in July, the pool has collected $193 million. The firm said it is also marketing the following funds: Oaktree Principal Fund VI LP, Oaktree Real Estate Debt Fund LP and Oaktree European Dislocation Fund LP.

Freeport Financial Direct Lending Fund Closes at $230 Mln

Freeport Financial, which is backed by Moelis & Co., said its most recent fund closed at about $230 million. Freeport Financial SBIC Fund LP is licensed by the U.S. Small Business Administration. The pool will invest in senior debt and unitranche financings for lower middle market, private equity owned companies with more than $3 million of EBITDA.

Marlin Equity Buys Asset Control

Marlin Equity Partners has acquired Asset Control N.V. Financial terms weren't announced. Netherlands-based Asset Control provides data management software to global financial institutions.
