Swedish software house takes $1.5m funding.

Decuma, a Swedish developer of handwriting recognition software for wireless devices such as mobile phones, PDAs and digital pens, has secured $1.5m funding from a consortium of investors including Danish VC Olicom, Volito Innovation and Visionalis.

The company has patented a handwriting technology based on a mathematical algorithm. The software transforms handwriting into mathematical symbols. The company has also developed versions for Chinese and Japanese script recognition.
