H.I.G. Capital hires Simon Laker for European real estate

H.I.G. Capital has hired Simon Laker as principal and head of European Asset Management of the firm's real estate portfolio. Laker will be based in the firm's London office. Prior to H.I.G., Laker worked at Evans Randall, where he managed real estate investments across several European regions.

KKR confirms hiring of 3i's head of Spain

Kohlberg Kravis Roberts has officially announced the appointment of Alejo Vidal-Quadras as director based in the firm's Madrid office. Vidal-Quadras will be responsible for developing and supporting KKR's investment platforms in Spain. Vidal-Quadras joins the firm from 3i, where he worked as head of 3i Spain. KKR's announcement confirms an earlier report from peHUB.

Swander Pace hires two for marketing, deal sourcing

Swander Pace Capital has hired Carolyn Hanigan and Alina Costica DiMeglio. Hanigan will provide marketing leadership and strategic direction for Swander Pace portfolio companies and will be based in San Francisco. Costica DiMeglio will join the firm's investment staff focusing on deal sourcing and execution as well as portfolio management. Costica DiMeglio will be based in New Jersey.

PE-backed Sonru recruits new COO and CMO

Irish video interview firm Sonru has hired Jeff Jones as chief operating officer and Paul O'Mahony as chief marketing officer. Previously, Jones worked at such firms as The Walt Disney Company and Adventis while O'Mahony has worked at a number of software companies that include EMC and Cisco. Sonru is backed by Saphir Capital Partners.

TD Ameritrade appoints StarVest's Bettino to board

Online broker TD Ameritrade has added Larry Bettino and Todd Ricketts to its board of directors. Bettino is a managing member of StarVest Partners and Ricketts is a director of Chicago Baseball Holding, the holding company for the Chicago Cubs Major League Baseball franchise. Bettino's appointment is effective immediately while Ricketts will begin on January 1, 2015.

SVP Global adds Barreiro to advisory council

Investment firm Strategic Value Partners has named José Barreiro to its advisory council. Previously, Barreiro worked at BBVA where he held various executive positions including global head of corporate and investment banking.

Hellman & Friedman’s CarProof picks Ed Woiteshek as new CEO

CarProof Corp, a portfolio company of U.S. private equity firm Hellman & Friedman since 2013, has appointed Ed Woiteshek as its new CEO. Woiteshek, formerly a Hellman & Friedman director, replaces Paul Antony, CarProof's founder. Antony will assume the responsibilities of chairman of the board. CarProof, a provider of vehicle history reports based in London, Ontario, sold a minority stake to Hellman & Friedman for an undisclosed sum in August 2013. As reported by peHUB Canada, the company in June bought vehicle valuation guide Canadian Red Book Ltd.

Kirkland Ellis taps PE lawyer Harris as a partner

Global law firm Kirkland & Ellis has hired private equity /M&A lawyer Ryan Harris as a partner in its corporate practice group. He is based in the firm's Chicago office. Prior to joining Kirkland, Harris worked at Will & Emery where served as a partner.

VC-backed Infusionsoft hires CFO

Infusionsoft, a sales and marketing software provider for small businesses, has named Curtis Smith as chief financial officer. In his new role, Smith will oversee corporate finance, accounting, legal, investor relations and report to the firm's CEO and co-founder Clate Mask. Infusionsoft is backed by Goldman Sachs, Bain Capital Ventures, Mohr Davidow Ventures and Signal Peak Ventures.
