Capital One Bank has hired Terry O'Grady as managing director and head of the Midwest Region for Capital One Business Credit. O'Grady will focus on business development and building a team to work on asset-based lending in the Midwest. He will be based in Chicago and report to Dan deBrauwere, head of Capital One's Business Credit unit. O'Grady was most recently commercial executive and head of the Midwest Region for HSBC's Commercial Lending Group. Before that, he worked as managing director at CIT and was a founding member of BMO Harris Bank's asset bank group.

Morgan Lewis has hired Tim Corbett as a partner in its business and finance practice in London. Corbett, who was previously in the corporate practice group of another large international law firm in London, focuses on public and private equity and debt offerings, M&A and venture capital financings. He works with companies in the life sciences, technology and media sectors, including in biotechnology, Internet, e-commerce and digital media, as well as semiconductor design and manufacturing.

Macquarie Capital, the corporate advisory, principal investing and capital markets arm of Macquarie Group, has named Larry Handen as a senior managing director in the U.S. principal transactions group. Prior to joining Macquarie, Handen worked at Insight Venture Partners where he was a managing director.

Sarona Asset Management has appointed Menno Derks as the firm's fourth partner. Derks, who was a founding member of the in-house private equity group of Dutch pension fund PGGM, will continue to be Sarona's managing director responsible for fund investments. Based in Kitchener, Ontario, and Amsterdam, the Netherlands, the firm is focused on making returns-generating investments in small and mid-market companies and private equity funds in frontier and emerging markets.

Victor Ojeda has been named president of Steelhead LNG Corp, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) project development company based in Vancouver. Ojeda was previously a managing director of LNG Canada. As reported in July by peHUB Canada, Steelhead LNG, which is led by CEO Nigel Kuzemko, received an undisclosed investment from Canadian energy-focused private equity firm KERN Partners earlier this year. The company aims to build a $30 billion terminal to ship up to 30 million tonnes of LNG per year to customer markets in Asia.

TSG Consumer Partners general partner and managing director Alexander Panos has decided to leave the firm to start his own private equity fund. Panos joined TSG as an associate in 1998 and was named managing director in 2004. In 2007, he moved from TSG's San Francisco office to the New York office. Panos didn't reveal details of his future plans.

LENSAR said Friday that it has named Charlie Federico and Carmen Bringgold to its board of directors. Federico was the president and CEO of Orthofix International while Bringgold is the chief financial officer and senior vice president of commercialization at NxThera. Based in Orlando, Florida, LENSAR is a developer of laser systems for cataract surgery. Its backers include PDL BioPharma, Aisling Capital, Florida Growth and Florida Opportunity Funds.
