WILsquare Capital has acquired Denver-based Cartwright Distributing LLC, a provider of flooring products. Also, WILSquare has formed Crown Products Inc, which is comprised of Cartwright Distributing and current WILsquare Capital portfolio company Walcro. No financial terms were disclosed.

Silver Lake is looking to buy major stakes in the New York Knicks and New York Rangers before the teams are spun off into a publicly traded company, the New York Post is reporting. Silver Lake already owns 10 percent of the Madison Square Garden, which owns the teams, and it wants more, the story said. But Silver Lake doesn’t want MSG’s other assets which include Radio City Music Hall and the Tao nightclub empire, the New York Post said.

Harvest Partners LP has acquired Yellowstone Landscape from CIVC Partners LP. No financial terms were disclosed. Harris Williams served as financial adviser to CIVC and Yellowstone on the transaction while Piper Jaffray and William Blair did likewise for Harvest Partners. Based in Palm Coast, Florida, Yellowstone is a commercial landscaping company.

The Catalyst Capital Group Inc plans on voting against the recently announced agreement to take Canadian retailer Hudson's Bay private by a group of shareholders led by Executive Chairman Richard Baker. Catalyst is against the deal because the Canadian private equity firm feels it's a "severely undervalued share buyback" at the expense of shareholders. As previously reported, a group of Hudson's Bay shareholders offered C$10.30 per share in cash for the 43 percent of shares it does not own in the retailer. Catalyst currently holds an approximate 28.24 percent share of HBC's total common shares.
