Clayton, Dubilier & Rice has agreed to acquire Anixter International Inc in a take-private deal for $3.8 billion. According to terms of the deal, CD&R will acquire Anixter common stock for $81 per share in cash. The deal is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of next year. Based in Glenview, Illinois, Anixter is a provider of network and security solutions, electrical and electronic solutions and utility power solutions.

U.K. private equity firm BC Partners has closed its previously announced recapitalization of Garda World Security Corp, a Montréal-based security services provider, for $5.2 billion. As a result of the transaction, BC Partners now holds a 51 percent stake in GardaWorld while Chairman and CEO Stephan Crétier and select members of management have a 49 percent stake. Barclays and TD Securities provided financial advice to GardaWorld while Scotiabank did likewise for BC Partners.
