Dunedin appoints new fund manager

The UK private equity firm has hired Peter Smaill to replace Brian Finlayson, who is retiring.

Dunedin Capital Partners, the independent UK private equity firm, has hired Peter Smaill as a director and principal fund manager for Dunedin Enterprise Investment Trust, the firm’s buyout and buyin fund.

Prior to Dunedin, Smaill was at LICA Development Capital in London where he was a managing director overseeing the company’s IT strategy and tax related products.

Before joining LICA, he was a Director of Bridgepoint Capital, formerly NatWest Equity Partners, where he established a new Scottish office in 1989. At Dunedin, he takes over from Brian Finlayson, who is retiring from Dunedin after a career in financial services spanning almost four decades.
