EIF will invest in European venture funds

The Luxembourg-headquartered organisation announced the launch of a fund of funds programme.

The European Investment Fund and the European Commission have announced the launch of a European venture capital fund of funds programme, which aims to boost investment in start-ups across Europe. The programme will consist of six funds backed by €410 million of EU funding, and will aim to raise up to €2.1 billion of both public and private capital.

The €2.3 billion Luxembourg-headquartered investment organisation has a 16 percent allocation to alternatives including private equity.
