Illinois Teachers’ approves $136m in commitments

The US public pension bas backed a pair of private equity funds.

Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois confirmed $136 million-worth of private equity commitments to two funds at its December 2020 board meeting, a contact at the pension informed Private Equity International.

The commitments comprised $75 million to Bertram Growth Capital IV and €50 million to Blantyre Special Situations Fund II.

Illinois Teachers’ has a 15 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 13.7 percent.
