Linklaters makes private equity hire

Linklaters plugs gap left by departing partners with the appointment of Ian Bagshaw, a private equity partner, to join the law firm’s London office.

Ian Bagshaw joins Linklaters from Clifford Chance, where he has been since 2000 and a partner since 2004. Before Clifford Chance, he worked at Eversheds. He will start at Linklaters in May.

Charlie Jacobs, head of private equity at Linklaters, said: “The appointment will help the continued growth of the private equity practice on a global level and enable us to meet the strong demand for our services from key traditional and non-traditional private equity clients.”

Linklaters lost its global head of private equity Graham White and one of its partners Raymond McKeeve to US rival Kirkland & Ellis in March. Jochen Winter, a private equity partner in Germany, also left to join US rival Willkie Farr & Gallagher in January.
