LP Perspectives Study 2021 methodology

Perspectives is Private Equity International’s ninth annual study of institutional investors’ approach to alternative asset classes.

More specifically, PEI’s LP Perspectives Study aims to provide a granular view of the alternatives market, both current and future, by gathering insight on investors’ asset allocation, propensity to invest, and performance predictions. It is a global study, reflected in the question set and the respondents, which allows for meaningful global views and cross-regional comparisons across alternative asset classes. The question set is reviewed annually, with the objective of reflecting market developments and shifts in sentiment.

For the 2021 study, PEI’s Research & Analytics team surveyed 100 institutional investors. Fieldwork was carried out from August to September 2020. Participation in the LP Perspectives Study is always anonymous.
