Maryland confirms $675m in commitments

The US public pension has backed five PE funds.

Maryland State Retirement and Pension System approved $675 million-worth of private equity commitments at its June investment committee meeting, a contact at the pension informed Private Equity International.

The commitments comprise $60 million to Clearlake Capital Partners VI; $50 million to Vista Foundation Fund IV; $100 million to Coller Capital VIII; $345 million to Lexington Co-Investment Partners V; and $120 million to Hg Genesis 9.

The $53.76 billion US public pension has a 14.40 percent allocation to private equity as of 31 May 2020.

As illustrated below, Maryland’s most recent batch of five private equity commitments have comprised two buyout funds, and one vehicle each pursuing secondaries, distressed and co-investment strategies.
