MVision hires Loren Boston

Boston, a veteran in the placement business, will be based in MVision’s New York office.

Veteran fundraiser Loren Boston has joined London-based placement agent MVision Private Equity Advisers as a senior managing director in the firm's New York office, the firm said in a statement. Boston will work alongside MVision's founders, Mounir Guen and Hussein Khalifa, and the firm's regional heads.

MVision isn't the only UK-based placement agent currently looking to beef up its business in North America. Campbell Lutyens, which is headquartered in London, said Monday that it had appointed former British Ambassador Sir Peter Westmacott to its advisory board in a move to expand its reach in the US.

Boston has more than 30 years of experience on Wall Street. Most recently, he was president and chief operating officer of Hycroft, a specialised investment bank advising the alternatives investments market. Before that he spent 15 years focusing exclusively on fundraising, serving as the global head of origination for Merrill Lynch's private equity funds group from 2004 to 2010, and head of the private equity fund group at Citigroup Global Markets from 1999 to 2004. Prior to that, he held senior fundraising positions at Eaton Partners and BT Alex Brown, now part of Deutsche Bank.

MVision's most recently placed funds include Tailwind Capital Partners' second fund Tailwind Capital Partners II, which held a close on $1.5 billion in July 2015, above its $750 million target, and Abac Capital's debut fund Abac Solutions I, which held a close on €320 million in May 2016, above its €300 million target.

MVision Private Equity Advisers was founded in 2001 and advises on raising capital for private equity, real estate, real assets, credit, and direct transactions in developing and emerging markets. The firm also has offices in New York, San Francisco, Hong Kong, and Sydney and employs a team of over 50 professionals.
