NYSCRF confirms $770 million in commitments

The Albany-based public pension fund has backed two private equity vehicles.

New York State Common Retirement Fund has approved $770 million-worth of commitments to two private equity vehicles, according to the pension’s latest monthly transaction report.

The commitments comprise $750 million to ICG Excelsior SCSp, and $20 million to Charger Investment Partners Fund I.

The commitment to Charger Investment Partners is made from the pension’s Emerging Manager Program. The inaugural fund is currently in market seeking $450 million in capital commitments for investments within North American mid-market companies operating in manufacturing, consumer goods, hospitality and business services.

The $254.8 billion US pension has a 10 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 10 percent.
