Pantheon collects $402m for co-investments

The firm is nearing its $500m target for the fund, which held a first close on $41m in January.

Fund of funds investor Pantheon raised about $402 million for its Pantheon Global Co-Investment Opportunities Fund II, according to documents filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. 

Fund II has a $500 million target, according to Private Equity International’s Research and Analytics division, and held a first close on about $41 million in January. The fund is Pantheon’s first vehicle aimed exclusively at co-investments, though the firm has been co-investing alongside general partners since 1997. Pantheon has completed co-investments in North America, Europe, China and Australia in sectors including media, healthcare, energy, education and industrial and professional services, according to its website.

Pantheon declined to comment.

The firm also collected about $53 million for its Pantheon USA Small Funds Program IX fund, the target for which could not be determined at press time. 

The firm’s latest secondaries vehicle, Pantheon Global Secondary Fund V, has a $3 billion target, according to PEI data.

Pantheon currently manages $24.1 billion for over 350 clients, including pension funds, endowments, government bodies and insurance companies.
