PBU approves DKr100m commitment

The Danish pension fund has backed an ESG-focused private equity fund targeting investments in Asia-Pacific.

Pædagogernes Pension (PBU) has confirmed a DKr100 million commitment to SEAF Women’s Economic Empowerment Fund, according to a press release on the pension fund’s website.

According to PBU, this investment allows the pension to provide financial support for women’s rights and working conditions in Vietnam, the Philippines and Indonesia. The pension is committed to assisting women entrepreneurs, women-led companies and organisations with a high element of female labour and gender quality within high-growth sectors.

This is PBU’s first known private equity fund commitment since  2015-vintage Danske Private Equity Partners VI. The $2 billion Danish pension allocated 3 percent of its investment portfolio to private equity as of 31 December 2019.
