RBS hires Eric Capp as head of leveraged capital markets

The Royal Bank of Scotland has hired Eric Capp from JP Morgan as head of its leveraged capital markets team, as it looks to win even more lucrative leveraged finance work.

The Royal Bank of Scotland has recruited Eric Capp from rival JP Morgan to head up its leveraged capital markets team in Europe and Asia.

Capp, who was previously a managing director and head of European high-yield capital markets at JP Morgan, will report to John Hurricane, head of leveraged finance for the two regions, and David Bassett, the global head of loan markets.

Capp will start at RBS in June.

Elsewhere, Barclays Capital has also moved to strengthen its European leveraged finance team with a number of internal promotions. The bank has promoted Kirk Harrison and Phil Kelleher to the newly created position of co-heads of leveraged product, reporting to John Kelting, head of European leveraged finance.

The bank has also promoted Jonathan Hosgood and David Shaw, who become co-heads of sponsor origination, reporting to Kelting.
