The American Investment Council, the private equity industry body, has appointed Pam Hendrickson to the newly created position of vice-chair of its board of directors. She previously served on the board.

Hendrickson was chief operating officer of The Riverside Company from 2006 until this month, when she was promoted to vice-chair, according to her LinkedIn profile. She is a senior sponsor of Riverside’s diversity and inclusion committee and, before joining the firm, served as a managing director at JPMorgan for 22 years.

“Pam has extensive experience supporting small businesses at The Riverside Company and has worked closely with the AIC team for years educating policymakers and the public about the benefits of private equity,” AIC chairman of the board Steve Klinsky in a statement.

The news follows AIC’s appointment late last year of Dillon Iwu as director of government affairs, another newly created position.
