Kevin McDowell has left Alberta Investment Management Corp (AIMCo) after nearly 14 years with the institutional investor. McDowell joined the Alberta Teachers’ Retirement Fund Board’s private equity program as a senior principal in June.

PE-owned burger chain Smashburger hires CMO

Smashburger, which is owned by Consumer Capital Partners, has hired Josh Kern as chief marketing officer. Previously, Kern worked at Consumer Capital where he served as CMO. Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, Smashburger is a burger restaurant chain.

Brynwood Partners' Harvest Hill hires five senior executives

Harvest Hill Beverage Company, a portfolio company of Brynwood Partners VII, has made five executive appointments. The firm has named Salvatore DePrima as president and CEO; James Sheppard as chief financial officer; Richard Hubli as senior vice president of operations; Ilene Bergenfeld as chief marketing officer; and David Champlin as senior vice president of sales. Based in Stamford, Conn., Harvest Hill was formed by Brynwood Partners VII to buy Juicy Juice from Nestle USA.
