Resonetics has acquired STI Laser Industries, an Israeli provider of laser processing, nitinol shape setting and electropolishing and cleanroom assembly and packaging for the medical device industry. No financial terms were disclosed. Resonetics is owned by Regatta Medical, a portfolio company of GTCR.

Fort Wayne, Indiana-based Mend Medical, a new healthcare investment firm, has launched. Mend Medical will focus on healthcare companies "dedicated to improving accessible, affordable, quality patient care and eliminating incentives that put profits ahead of patients." Mend Medical's parent company is Ambassador Enterprises.

LEARN Behavioral, a portfolio company of LLR Partners, has acquired Elmhust, Illinois-based Total Spectrum, a provider of applied behavior analysis services for families and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. No financial terms were disclosed. Livingstone advised Total Spectrum on the deal.

Bain Capital LP and Pfizer Inc have formed Cerevel Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company focused on drug candidates to treat disorders of the central nervous system. Bain Capital has committed $350 million to Cerevel. Centerview Partners provided financial advice to Pfizer on the transaction with Arnold & Porter providing legal counsel. And, Goldman Sachs advised Bain Capital while Ropes & Gray served as legal counsel. PriceWaterhouseCooper acted as accounting adviser to Bain Capital.

Clearlake Capital Group LP said Oct. 23 that it agree to buy symplr from Pamlico Capital and The CapStreet Group. Financial terms weren’t announced. Symplr is a healthcare GRC SaaS platform that provides management, credential management and payer enrollment services to over 1,500 customers representing more than 4,000 healthcare facilities in North America. TripleTree and Harris Williams provided financial advice to Clearlake, while William Blair & Co served as financial adviser to symplr, Pamlico and CapStreet.
