As the data reveals, interest in Indian private equity funds has been strong over the last 10 years, with a number of non- DFI investors having committed to these funds: such as the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, APG Asset Management, Delaware Public Employees’ Retirement System, and RWB Capital Fonds.
Interest in Indian private equity however waned in the years following the crisis, with the total capital raised for Indian specific private equity funds being only $2.57 billion in 2013, compared to $7.56 billion in 2008.
