With only three months to go until the Impetus-PEF Private Equity Triathlon, the charity is urging members of the industry to register for the event, hoping to beat last year’s total of almost 400 competitors.
The triathlon, now in its third year, will take place on 17 September at the Olympic venue at Eton Dorney, just outside London. Athletes have the opportunity to compete as individuals or in a team, running, swimming and cycling across five races.
Winners at last year’s event included Aztec Group, CVC Capital Partners, Summit Partners, Alvarez and Marsal, and Simpson Thacher and Bartlett.
Supporters last year raised more than £190,000 ($272,000; €241,000) for the charity that supports other bodies working with disadvantaged young people in the UK to boost their educational and employment prospects. It currently works with more than 20 charities helping more than 80,000 young people.
Andy Ratcliffe, who is the new CEO of Impetus-PEF and competing in the triathlon for the first time, said: “The Impetus-PEF Private Equity Triathlon is not only a great sporting and networking event, it raises money to help disadvantaged young people and tackle one of the biggest social and economic problems of our time, so please sign up today and secure your place at this great event.”
