SK Capital has acquired Avon Lake, Ohio-based GEON Performance Solutions, a provider of plastic compounded solutions. The seller was PolyOne Corporation. No financial terms were disclosed; however, a previous report of this news item tagged the value of the deal at about $775 million. The Valence Group acted as M&A adviser to SK Capital on the transaction with Latham & Watkins LLP providing legal counsel.

Stellex Capital Management has sold Morbark LLC, a maker of high-performance equipment and aftermarket parts for forestry, tree maintenance, biomass, land management and recycling markets, to Alamo Group Inc. The deal values Morbark at about US$352 million. Baird served as financial adviser and DLA Piper was legal counsel to Stellex and Morbark on the transaction. Based in Winn, Michigan, Morbark has subsidiary operations in Wooster, Ohio and Roxton Falls, Québec.

Pangaea Investment Management, the investment arm of China's Jiangxi Copper Company Ltd, has made an investment in Vancouver-based copper miner First Quantum Minerals Ltd. According to the terms of the transaction, PIM acquired 6 million common shares of FQM for $9.89 per share, for a total of over $59.3 million, on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
