SSB, which is backed by Strattam Capital, has acquired HEPdata, a matching gift solution and employment data provider. No financial terms were disclosed.

365 Data Centers buys NYI-NJ

365 Data Centers, a provider of cloud, connectivity, and data center services for enterprise, carrier, and content customers, has acquired NYI-NJ, a Bridgewater, New Jersey-based data center. No financial terms were disclosed. Turning Rock Partners provided a portion of the funding for the acquisition via an investment in 365 Data Centers.

Sentinel to sell The Luminaires Group to Acuity Brands

Sentinel Capital Partners has agreed to sell Montreal-based The Luminaires Group, a maker of architectural lighting fixtures, to Acuity Brands Inc. No financial terms were disclosed. Christian Fabi serves as president of The Luminaires Group.

Raptor Scientific snags $60 mln from L Squared

Raptor Scientific LLC, a provider of mission-critical testing and measurement solutions to the aerospace and defense sector, has secured $60 million in funding. The investor was L Squared Capital Partners.

Mill Point completes buyout of Pythian's services unit

Mill Point Capital, a New York-based middle-market private equity focused on the business services and industrial sectors, has acquired The Pythian Group Inc's services division. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in Ottawa, Pythian is a provider of IT services. Pythian's backers included BDC Capital‘s Growth and Transition Capital.

PE-backed RDX acquires Navisite from Charter

RDX, which is backed by Madison Dearborn Partners LLC, has acquired Navisite LLC from Charter Communications. No financial terms were disclosed. Navisite is a provider of managed cloud services.

PE-backed Lithion acquires Aved Electronics

Lithion Power Group Ltd, a portfolio company of Canadian private equity firm TriWest Capital Partners, has acquired Aved Electronics Inc. No financial terms were disclosed. MFA Capital Advisors was the financial adviser to Aved on the deal. Aved Electronics is a New England-based manufacturer of custom cable, wire and harness assemblies as well as battery packs, electro-mechanical assemblies and box builds. Headquartered in Calgary, Lithion is a provider of mission-critical power solutions to the oil and gas pipeline industries.

Tailwind acquires Ventiv Technology

Tailwind Capital has acquired Ventiv Technology Inc, a software provider of integrated risk management solutions for businesses and government entities. No financial terms were disclosed. Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP and Harris Williams advised Tailwind on the deal.

Providence Strategic invests in MAPAL Software

Providence Strategic Growth, the growth affiliate of Providence Equity Partners, has invested in MAPAL Software. Financial terms weren’t announced. MAPAL, of Madrid, develops and supplies management and business analytics software for the restaurant and retail sectors.

Permira, Advent seek to buy Symantec for $16 bln: Wall Street Journal

Permira and Advent International have made a joint approach to buy Symantec for more than $16 billion, according to press reports. The deal values the maker of Norton antivirus software at about $26 a share, the stories said.
