New York State Common Retirement Fund approves €425m in commitments

The US public pension has backed three Western European focused private equity funds.

New York State Common Retirement Fund has agreed to commit €425 million-worth of private equity commitments across three vehicles, according to the pension’s October monthly report.

The commitments comprise of €200 million to IK IX Fund, €150 million to Blantyre Special Situations Fund I and €75 million to Blantyre Capital’s co-investment vehicle (Madison Square Fund).

The $210.58 billion US public pension has a 10.0 percent target allocation to private equity which currently stands at 9.10 percent.

As illustrated below, New York State Common Retirement Fund has made 15 commitments to 2019-vintage private equity funds, which combined constitute $2.22 billion.
