Lime Rock Partners raises $688m

The US-based private equity investment partner continues to pursue investments in the oil and gas industry.

Lime Rock Partners has closed its eighth private equity fund at $688 million. The fund continues to pursue the strategy of its predecessors, investing primarily in oil and gas exploration and production, mineral interests and shale services businesses.

Investors in the fund include the University of Michigan, other endowments and foundations, pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers and family offices.

Eaton Partners acted as the placement agent for the fund, after also serving as the placement agent for Lime Rock Partners VII.

Lime Rock Partners VII previously closed at $500 million in July 2016.
