London Merchant Securities appoints new finance director

The venture capital group and property agent has appointed Sally Doyle-Linden to serve as the group's finance director designate.

Doyle-Linden will start at the group from January and work alongside current finance director Michael Waldron until he retires in May 2002.

Doyle-Linden has more than 14 years experience of the UK property market. Prior to joining London Merchant Securities, she worked at rival agent Pillar Property, which bought Wates City of London Properties earlier this year. Doyle-Linden was financial controller at Wates, responsible for the Group’s financial operations. She was instrumental in the financial integration of Wates City into the Pillar Group.

While rental income from the group’s property portfolio was up 14 per cent, according to its latest results, the group recorded a loss £26.6m on £41.9m of venture capital investments, this compares with a £40.3m profit for the same period a year earlier.
