Warburg Pincus promotes two in New York(3)

David Krieger and Justin Sadrian have been named managing directors.

New York-based private equity firm Warburg Pincus has promoted two members of its New York team, David Krieger and Justin Sadrian, to the position of managing director.

Krieger will continue to work primarily in the firm’s energy group, while Sadrian will continue in the technology, media and telecommunications group, the statement said. Both men joined the firm in 2000.

Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, Krieger, 33, worked at McKinsey & Company in Atlanta and in Europe. He currently serves as the director of some of the oil exploration and production companies in the firm’s portfolio, including Calgary, Canada-based MEG Energy, Trondheim, Norway-based ElectroMagnetic Geoservices, London-based Fairfield Energy, and Dallas, Texas-based Kosmos Energy.

Sadrian, 34, worked in the investment banking and merchant banking divisions at JP Morgan Securities before coming to Warburg Pincus. He is the director of Institutional Shareholder Services, a Rockville, Maryland-based proxy voting and corporate governance services provider, OnTargetJobs, a Fort Worth, Texas-based online advertising portal for job boards, SDI Media Group, a Los Angeles-based provider of translation services for Hollywood studios and television broadcasting companies, Mobile Productivity, a Las Vegas-based developer of performance support for the automotive industry, and CAMP Systems International, a Ronkonkoma, New York-based provider of maintenance tracking services to corporate aircraft operators.

Founded in 1971, Warburg Pincus also invests in the healthcare, consumer and industrial, financial services and real estate sectors, the statement said. The firm made its first investment with its debut real estate fund when it acquired a 20 percent stake in 7 Days, a Chinese budget hotel chain, in early December. The fund, worth $1.2 billion, closed in October.
