BancBoston beefs up Germany effort

BancBoston Capital, the private equity unit of FleetBoston Financial, has hired Christian Heidl to help the firm do deals in the German leveraged buyout market.

Heidl, who joins as an investment officer, will be based in London, working with the firm's later stage investment unit.

Prior to joining BancBoston, Heidl worked for quoted German private equity manager Deutsche Beteilungs AG in Frankfurt and Munich.

Commenting on the appointment, BancBoston's managing director in London, Andrew Kellet, said: ' Germany is an increasingly important market for BancBoston Capital. Christian's local experience will be increasingly valuable in developing a franchise alngside our local partners.'
