European financial portal bfinance has raised E34m in its third financing round from investors including Seat, Carlyle Internet Partners Europe and NetPartners.
Marc Mayor, chief executive of bfinance, said: “This third round of financing will allow the company to develop from an established base as Europe's online business finance solution with wide industry participation, cutting edge technology and great teams across Europe.”
The site enables any company to launch a bid tender for any business finance product. It has 217 financial institutions registered in Europe including Barclays, Credit Lyonnais , Hamburgische Landesbank, IKB, Siemens Financing & Leasing and BNP Paribas. Marc Mayor and David Vafai and a team of finance, journalism, and management professionals set up the company in 1999. The service was launched in France in February 2000 and in the UK and Germany in June 2000.
