Brooks resigns from Sovereign

London-based lower mid-market private equity firm Sovereign Capital is to lose managing partner Peter Brooks, who has resigned from the firm.

Brooks: Leaving Sovereign Capital

Brooks will hand over his current responsibilities to senior partners Andrew Hayden and Ryan Robson, but will continue as non-executive director on two of the firm’s portfolio company boards.

Brooks has over 17 years’ experience in private equity, the last seven of which have been spent at Sovereign Capital. He has also worked in the brewing and oil and gas industries.

Originally known as Nash, Sells & Partners before being renamed in 2000 upon the retirement of founder Andrew Sells, Sovereign Capital closed its second fund, Sovereign Capital Limited Partnership II in May of this year at £275 million (€402 million; $486 million), bringing its funds under management to £450 million.
