CalPERS approves $300m to PE commitments

The US public pension has backed North America- and Western Europe-focused funds.

California Public Employees' Retirement System committed $150 million each to Carlyle Strategic Partners IV and Clayton Dubilier & Rice X, both buyout funds, as disclosed in its February meeting agenda. 

The $307 billion US public pension has an 8 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 8.7 percent.
