CCMP hires former Gucci CFO

The firm has named former CFO of Gucci Group Robert Singer as an executive director focused on the consumer and retail sectors in Europe.

CCMP Capital Advisors has hired former chief financial officer of Gucci Group Robert Singer as an executive advisor to the firm.

Singer will focus on investment opportunities in the consumer and retail sectors in Europe, where CCMP is expanding its investment activities. In addition to working at Gucci Group, Singer previously held the position of chief executive officer of Italian food company Barilla Holding and CFO of clothing retailer Abercrombie & Fitch. He will work alongside CCMP “senior members” Robert McGuire and Thomas Walker, based in London.

“The relationships Bob has made through his long and distinguished corporate career will play an integral role in sourcing and analyzing consumer investment opportunities in Europe,” Walker said in a statement.

CCMP specialises in upper mid-market buyouts and growth equity investments of $100 million to $500 million in the US and Europe. The firm focuses on the consumer, industrial, energy and healthcare industries.

CCMP’s most recent fund, CCMP Capital Advisors II, closed on $3.4 billion in 2007. The firm spun out of JPMorgan in 2006.
