The top 50 of this year’s PEI 300, our ranking of the largest funds in the industry based on their five-year fundraising totals, have widened their offerings in recent years.

Top-ranked Blackstone since late 2018, launched three investment platforms focused on life sciences, growth equity and impact investing.

Apollo Global Management (14), which began its foray into infrastructure investing in 2018, is understood to be seeking as much as $3 billion for its second vehicle. Growth-focused General Atlantic (18) is positioning itself for better opportunities as a result of the pandemic by raising a roughly $5 billion credit fund alongside Tripp Smith.
